Kanye West talked about bitcoin during his long-awaited appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast. American rapper and presidential candidate Kanye West praised the bitcoin community during his three-hour interview on the podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience.”
West seems convinced that the “Bitcoin Boys” can bring real liberation and freedom to America and the rest of the world. He said that these are people who have a perspective on what true American liberty and humanity is.
Bitcoin, the Internet’s Currency
The Grammy winner talked mostly about his current presidential campaign, the music business, and working as a pastor, but crypto crept into the conversation as well. West said he should contact venture capitalist Anthony Schiller about bitcoin before his long-awaited appearance on the popular podcast.
The Chicago native remembers Jack Dorsey’s Bluesky initiative, which aimed to create open and decentralized technical standards for social media.
Dorsey – CEO of Twitter and Square, which also advocates bitcoin – has recorded two episodes with Rogan himself. In one of them, he believes that Bitcoin can become the currency of the Internet:
Even though only about a minute of the episode West giant is devoted to crypto, he seems genuinely excited about it. The rapper’s interest in bitcoin started in May 2018, when he first mentioned it in his interview with Charlamagne Tha God.
West claims that a new $ 20 bill design featuring ex-slave Harriet Tubman introduced him to bitcoin use. He said that he wanted to use bitcoin when he saw Harriet Tabman on the $ 20 bill.
Issues Discussed in the Podcast
Kanye never touched on bitcoin again in the three-hour conversation with Rogan. His concept of freedom appears to be based on the premise that the political system, therefore the banking system, is racist.
In other parts of the podcast, West recalls his initial thoughts of running for president. Kanye later said that he finally chose to run for president because “he believes [his] calling is to be leader of the Free World.” I am a great leader because I listen, and I empathize.
He claimed that the Star Wars backstory was better than the trilogy sequels. Afterward, he suggested the consequent deaths of Bob Marley, Michael Jackson, Prince, and Bruce and Brandon Lee.
He also spoke about religious music and his efforts towards it. He said that when he published his contract, he had ten deals that were confusing to him. Furthermore, there was a mention of agreements to sexually assault the artist. “I’m just telling the truth, and telling the truth is crazy in a world full of lies,” he concluded.
