Crypto promoters who are being banned and demonetized from Youtube and searching for a viable alternative. One option is the Vid project, which monetizes views while encouraging participation. The platform recently updated its iOS app, and its Android app is now live on the Google Play store.
Instead of monetizing user info like other social media platforms, Vid passes those earnings to content creators. “While you’ve been mindlessly scrolling, tech companies have made trillions of dollars off your time and attention. You’ve been programmed to make money for them. ”- says Jag Singh, Vid Co-Founder. By paying users in VI tokens for their content, the Vid app functions as an alternative to Universal Basic Income.
Their recent press release has revealed that Vid is aiming for the audience in India. “ . . . the country is home to a strong android user-base (91% use an Android device), and with the country recently banning Tik Tok, Vid wants to fill the gap and provide users with the ability to earn income through its social media platform.”
